Sanctuary in the Shire-MCA#50080 is a wonderful place to make family memories. It is made up of two separate homes so that you can all be together but have your own spaces as well. The 5 bedroom/3.5 bath home called Osprey Nest sleeps 12 with 4 queen beds and 4 twins(bunks) and the second home called Hummingbird Cottage is a 2 bedroom +loft/2 bath home that will sleep 6 with 2 Queen beds and 2 Twins in the loft area.

In between the two homes is an incredible indoor/outdoor lounging area for eating, visiting, relaxing whether it be in the sun or the shade and it's protected from the wind. The kitchen in Osprey's nest has a pass through window that goes into the outdoor lounge area making it easy for serving up delicious food items easily while you picnic outside.

The back yard of the Hummingbird Cottage has a fire pit for smores and campfire stories for all the family to enjoy. Having both units gives you the best of both worlds. Your family will want to come back year after year.

The living space in both homes is bright with natural light pouring in from the large windows. Enjoy having everyone together while cooking in the fully equipped kitchen and large picnic-style table. Perfect for game nights and puzzles with the family. They are both NON smoking and will allow 1 dog per house.

These vacation rentals are close to the local pub that plays live music most Saturday nights in the summer. So you will either enjoy a free show and let the kids stay up late or have an easy walk back from a night out. Music can play til Midnight but doors close at 10pm for noise purposes. IF you are not wanting to enjoy the free concert we suggest packing ear plugs for those nights.

  Great location and great layout for families w young kids. Kitchens were well-stocked, enough towels and linens for everyone, including dogs! Quick walk to beach and restaurants/shops on Manzanita's Main Street.

  We had a family reunion of 13. The houses were perfect. We had a quiet house and a late night game playing house so everyone was happy. The breezeway between the houses was just the right size for family meals. Spotlessly clean and well equipped. Two blocks to the beach. Less to the coffee and hot dog shops and town. Manzanita is lovely. The Sanctuary was just that and we can heartily recommend it.

  Our trip was an extended Family vacation with ages 21 to 82 all from out of state and this home was perfect for all 10 adults. It is exceptionally clean, well equipped for cooking & entertaining both indoors and out. Location can't be beat with short walks to the center of Manzanita shops & restaurants & the beach. Property Management was very informative pre-arrival and accessible & responsive while during our stay. I highly recommend Sanctuary in the Shire for any Family vacation to the Oregon Coast!

  I stayed with my extended family at the newly remodeled houses at the Shire. Worked out very well to have two interconnected homes. We were able to have large dinners in the connected covered outdoor area. Somewhat soft beds and if you are over 6’ in the smaller home the upstairs bedroom won’t work, but otherwise a great stay. A minute walk to downtown and 3 to the beach. Great location and a good time for all.
